Accumulation on brake equipment is far worse then, some traction like the 800’s don’t need to as they have a snow brake system, everything else it’s “Frequent running brake tests” which must be made at an Air braked stage, so that would be step 3 in a 387 as 1 and 2 are mostly dynamic braking. Obvious this is so heat actually generated

In the sim we go over low rail adhesion which gives us what we are looking for during situations but isn’t exactly what it would be like in the real world but it’s mainly to see how you react eg if at any point you don’t think you’re going to stop for a station/signal, straight into Emergency.
Weirdly enough in the real world a light drizzle is always a lot worse than proper rain for slippery rails
