Driver manager - greater Anglia?

Hey, thinking about applying for the driver manager position at greater Anglia.
Does anyone know how much they earn? Obviously I won't be applying for it if it was a drop in salary.

Are you already a driver? Or do GA take on non competent line managers like southern and GN/TL do?

His salary suggests a driver possibly a Chiltern one - but GA driver pay is only about 44k so the most I would expect a driver manager to get is around 48-50k maximum.

I am currently a driver manager ( duty train staff manager ) at tfl looking for something a bit closer to home though

Ah I don't think you could apply for this role as you'd need to hold a national rail train driving licence unfortunately.

And to be honest if it was a £3k-£5k pay cut I'll doubt I would of done it anyway

Ah it must work different on LU. On NR driver managers carry out competency rides for current drivers and thus must be competent themselves to drive.

Depends. Is it a driver manager role or a driver line manager? Not sure what system GA use but some TOCs now have 'non-competent' (note I refrained from saying 'incompetent'(!)) line managers which are similar to what you do on LUL-nothing to do with actually driving a train and so don't hold a licence. These are known as line managers or DLMs. Generally they are on a salary around 30-35k and are a largely administrative role.

A driver manager will usually be on a few grand more than a driver and hold a licence so must be an experienced driver. Often they will want at least a set number of years driving and being an instructor to give you a DM job.

£250 a month, so a good couple go grand a year!

Put its the idea of working for a private company too that appeals to me
