This is a bit of a random one but I have not seen anything similar in this forum, the reason I ask this as I had a friend who wanted to be an airline pilot (freight initially) and could not get on any training courses so ended up paying privately for his own training to be a pilot (obviously a massive cost he had to re-mortgage his house I believe) but passed and ended up getting a job with a freight company and now works for easy jet.

I was wondering if there are any similar companies who train privately for drivers, just thought I would ask the question out of interest.

None that I’m aware off. I understand that you can do the psychometric testing privately which would help you get an interview for a trainee driver position with the recruiting manager should your application pass the initial sift.

I did read that myself about the psychometric training that DB Shenker used to do it but not sure that's still the case? I have passed stage 1, the Group Bourdon test was a pass and all the other tests to enhanced level but that wasn't enough to progress to stage 2 with Freightliner and not had much luck since! Hopefully 2019 will bring us good luck!

As a private client, the answer in short is no. There are FOCs that will deliver driver training under contract, but only on behalf of industry corporate clients.
