Driver cab warnings

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, if so please feel free to move it

i was just wondering, in the cabs of trains the beeps, noises and bells that go off to make sure that the driver is paying attention, what are they all called and how does the driver cancel the alarm (i know its probably a button or somthing). Also are there any that the driver doesn't have to cancel or do anything about as i know there are different types. i believe one of them is called atp or somthing

any help will be greatly appreaciated

PING! = green signal ahead, no need to cancel
PAAAARP! = signal at caution/danger ahead, cancelled by pressing the AWS reset button
BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP! = vigilance, reset by briefly lifting feet off the DSD

Of course round here the PING! is replaced by a ringing bell on the older stock!

In addition to signals it sounds a warning for Emergency and Temporary Speed restriction equipment and Permanent speed restriction warning boards. Also some level crossings which are locally monitored i.e. not protected by barriers have a warning board which trigger the AWS.

There's also the beep of the Cab Secure Radio changing channel.

And also that annoying alarm beep the 377's make when MITRAC tells you the toilet is backing up (or some other fault...)

The beeps, noises and bells are not there to make sure the driver is paying attention. All train drivers have exceptional powers of concentration and competence - some are there for information and/or to ensure the driver is still alive.
