Does anyone have a list of Pacers which have been down seated? i noted 142013 on a Kirkby-Todmorden on Saturday with a set of 2 Seats removed from both Carriages i know a few Merseyrail ones where down seated at one point to are these permanent re-configurations or waiting on replacement/damaged seats being fixed?

Northern 142s which have broken seats that are dangerous to sit on have had them removed. They can't get new seats which match the old ones as the designs don't meet the latest standards for train seats. There's a number of Pacers with seats missing (both ones with Merseytravel and original seating.)

I don't think the leasing company (Angel) are keen on completely refitting a few 142s with brand new seats to create some spares of the old type either, as they see them as being on their last legs.

I take it that Angel Trains are still holding fast to their previously-issued statements with regard to their perceived life-expectancy of the Class 142 units in their fleet.
