Downpatrick Diesel Gala 6th January 2024

Our annual diesel gala is back - make a note in your diary, Saturday January 6th 2024. Can we beat last year's madness? Only time will tell. All available diesel traction will be pressed into service, with cameos from an 80 class railcar set, lineside photography, cab rides (these are raffled at random), ballast train brake van rides, and hopefully even the Wickham railcar and our O&K steam locomotive.
All tickets are £30 for an all day event, with doors open around 10:30am, and all extras on this day of intense service included in the price.

Just to note the gala has now been cancelled due to the devastating floods that have impacted the railway and locomotives, the water has passed over the traction motors in some cases and the railway needs any help it can get right now.

Emails have been sent to all customers whether they booked via DCDR or Táilte Tours detailing the situation and refund etc.

I'm a volunteer with both groups it's quite a depressing time at the moment but DCDR can and will bounce back, it's heartening though to read the well wishing emails coming back to us. A lot of good people out there!
