In a hung parliament, he is still PM although would have to form a minority administration. If the Tories get more seats, however, I doubt he'd have a mandate and would probably be forced to resign unless he could cooperate with another party to form a coalition.
Don't forget that if Brown is unable to form a coalition, the parliamentary mandate expects the Queen to invite the deputy, ie Harriet Harman, to form one. Who knows - it could be the time of the second female prime minister? One who this time won't try to destroy the country?...

Oh yeah, really got her head in the "real" world that one.
The country is on its knees, our soldiers are dying because of poor equipment and her 2 biggest concerns are putting an end to the term chair"man" in parliament and stopping page 3!
Things will be so much better with her in charge :roll:
(there is never a "rolling on floor peeing yourself laughing" smillie when you want one!)

Harriet Harperson or Margaret Thatcher.... well at least Thatcher was a formidable force... Harperson'll probably be the first PM to have her license revoked.

I believe he's still well, he has his reasons for his absence which is all I will say on the matter.
As to what will happen now, there's a 50 50 chance of both Liberal Democrat/Conservative parliament as well as a Labour/Liberal Democrat parliament.
Still the sooner Brown goes the better, should really do the country a favour and commit hara kari!
