How long before people start boycotting Southeastern trains?
we were supposed to go to London for a daytrip today but due to an unforseen circumstance we had to cancel
We decided to look into going tomorrow and found there are no direct services to Charing Cross, services to Victoria run as if they are to Charing Corss as far as Sevenoaks and the (proper) way to Victoria only runs as far as Rainham (Kent)
Its useless for me to use the Javelins as St Pancras is a long way from where i am going, same with Victoria.
How long do u think this timetable will last? i personally think once they relaise how much money they are losing they will soon change their minds
Also how stupid a place to end the journey is Rainham anyways? surely they could have managed Gillingham:mad::-x:-x:-x:-x

Are you not going a bit overboard?

I hardly think St Pancras and Victoria are useless and Charing Cross is your only option. Your ultimate destination no matter how close to Charing Cross it may be, is still accessible from both St Pancras and Victoria, they are only 10 minutes by Tube from Charing Cross themselves.

I'd give anything to even have a frequent service to anywhere on a Sunday.

My Village (or town as it is now called) gets 3 Bus Journeys and 3 Train services each way on Sunday (starting at 3pm), despite the fact it recorded around 167,000 entries and exits in the last financial year, which at best can be described as an underestimation, given how much revenue goes uncollected.

Don't take this as a nasty comment, but really you should of checked your journey (For engineering etc..) before travelling that way it would of saved you the disapointment.

In fact, you can get the Victoria via Sevenoaks train as far as Orpington, then change for a Hastings - Charing Cross train, diverted via New Beckenham.

today I will mostly be at home decorating
The heavy maintenance gets done on a Sunday because less people travel and the buses are available, fact, or would you rather it was done on a Thursday so 100,000s were inconvenienced as few buses would be available and the ones you could get would just get stuck in the jams caused by the larger road traffic flows?

Next weekend Cambridge has no trains in any direction on both days. It happens. Weekend travel anywhere in the UK gets disrupted by engineering.

Saying that, there's a sneaky one tomorrow morning. I'm in the habit of late of getting the 0728 Kings Cross line service from Cambridge. There's no mention on National Rail Enquiries ore on FCC's site of any alterations affecting any Cambridge services on that line.

However, a journey planner search shows no 0728, and instead has an 0745. The one or two earlier services even have Rail Replacement Buses part way. It's a good thing I did check the journey planner- if I'd just checked the timetable and engineering notices, I'd have no idea of this.

I do not understand the logic of your argument about using St Pancras or Victoria, unless what your planning to do is either along the Strand, Trafalgar Square or Charing Cross Station itself. St Pancras to Charing Cross can be done in 20 or less minutes on a route 91 bus, Victoria is less then 20 minutes from Charing Cross with bus routes 11 and 24 serving both and the London Underground District line via Embankment.

I just think in all honesty you are being very petty.

Soapbox balls! Victoria is barely 25 minutes WALK to Charing Cross, 12 minutes by BUS, 6 minutes by TUBE. Think yourself lucky you've got such a choice.

Victoria and KGStP are two of the busiest stations and biggest interchanges in the UK - that's not a bad choice on a Sunday (with other services curtailed by engineering/ posessions etc).

Some people will blame the railway for *anything*
