Doubled-Up GC 180s

I just happened to notice 1N92 (1127 King's X to Sunderland) pass Werrington Jct a few minutes ago, and noticed that, rather than the usual lone GC 180, there were TWO of them coupled together to form a 10car set.

Is that de rigeur for GC on that service since the timetable change?

I traveled on this service regular over the last 18 months on a Monday or a Friday and it’s always been a busy service with tourists heading for York!
It being a double would be brilliant!

I would guess it is because of Sunderland playing in the play off final at Wembley on Sunday

A friend of mine who works for GC actually told me it was Bank Holiday strengthening.
