Double Class 158 ECS working

Can anyone tell me please what the working of two South West Trains three car Class 158s' coupled together heading through Wokingham last Friday at 8:30am towards Reading at all? I presuming that it is an ECS working or that the two class 158's are being used substitute trains in some way?

159007 159021 working 5Z41, returned from Reading about 30 mins later.
