Hiya, been browsing this site for a while but still rather new to this so I was wondering if anyone could help me by advising me on the cheapest ways to make the following journey:

Dorridge to London (Assuming Marylebone would be cheapest) on March 31st arriving around 12:30.

Overnight in London.

London to Winchester on April 1st departing late afternoon (3-4ish).

Overnight in Winchester.

Winchester to Dorridge on April 2 departing early evening (6-ish).

Would I be right in thinking that there is no way to do this on one ticket with the overnight in London being a valid break of journey? I would not object to coming back via. London if it saves me some money. Would it work out cheapest just to buy a load of advance tickets?

Thanks for any help!

If you buy a SVR via High Wycombe or Rugby (but not route LONDON MIDLAND ONLY), you can break your journey overnight in London but must resume by 12.00pm the following day.

A resasonable split seems to be:

Off Peak Return: DORRIDGE to Rugby @ £9.70 (route ANY PERMITTED ) (CS) Off Peak Return: Rugby to WINCHESTER @ £41.70 (route KENSNGTN OLYMPIA )

The Rugby to Winchester ticket appears to have no time restrictions (I must remember that one for the future:D)

Edit: Actually it's restriction UT which Avantix doesn't seem to have in its database for some reason.

Hmmmm will have to have a look into it but I expect the saving will be negligible for the extra time needed for the journey. Sounds like a useful ticket though.

I always find quite difficult to get decent fares from here to just outside the Network Area.

If you come to Winchester first and stop in London on your return you can break your journey on a through ticket SVR £65.20, though there will hopefully be something a bit cheaper.
