Doors not opening at London Bridge

In the last week I have arrived at London Bridge every morning and on 3 occasions the driver has been unable to open the doors on the last 4 cars of a 12 car train in platform 12. Anyone know what the issue is?

I'm gonna take an edumacated guess at 700 ?

If so then please refer to the epic 700 thread in the traction forum. Basically. Its by design that the rear 4 don't open....

Probably just a fault with Mitrac. It happens sometimes. The GPS/PIBS for the train might not have recognised by the unit and therefore It will open the lowest number for GPS platform lengths.

They dont run in 10 formation though so it would still be 8 wouldnt it?

Got to be honest. I haven't been to LBG for ages lol used to as a guard.

Did you mean the highest number capable of berthing according to the defective system? The lowest number for 377s would presumably be 3. Or am I horribly confused?

Why is that, given that 700s have the capability to disable at least the rear car's doors. Surely that would more than account for any GPS inaccuracies, as it does elsewhere - for example, Purley? Disabling four cars seems OTT and with the potential to delay turn-rounds in some cases.

377s can run in any combination from 3 to 12 cars.

I read it as the shortest platform length. Ie, when it knows that it is at London Bridge, but doesn't know what platform, it assumes that it is in the shortest one and opens the doors accordingly.

Sorry, I meant the shortest platform length in the GPS database for the Mitrac.

There are SDO beacons at stations with various platform lengths. I'd assume London Bridge is the same. If the train cannot detect the SDO beacon it will resort to GPS. The GPS may still have LBG as being 8 Car (Shortest Platform before rebuild).

It occasionally happens at Lewes, for example, and the train will open 5 coaches - as was the lowest platform length originally.
