I'm working in Doncaster next weekend and want to know wheres the best place to catch some railway action!

Obviously it has a hugely busy station but are the works worth a visit? Is there a good spot for a bit of photography?

Any help much appreiciated ;)

South end of platform 3 was always the spot in the 80s. There was even a heated glass shelter well away from any regular passengers.

Very intersting if you go into the upper levels of the frenchgate center carpark, you overlook the station the works and you can see one of the avoider lines too! definitely worth even just for a breezy 5 minutes!

The station si fine for photography due to centre roads but i tend to go to north end of p3/4 as thats where works are.

I've been told that staff at the Frenchgate centre can be a bit funny if you spend too long in the car park - probably think you are a car thief. If you're driving to Donny then using the car park to take some pictures shouldn't look too suspicious.
