Hi All,

Just wondering if anybody has attempted / completed travelling over the whole London Overground network in a single day ?

Is there any form of record for doing it, similar to that for travelling to all London Underground stations ?

I *did* work out how to visit every station in one day - not record breaking by any means I guess though! Especially as I think it was something like 7 and a half hours...

...it was about 2 months ago, I'll see if it all pans out still, it was for a Saturday though... perhaps I should do it - or perhaps it would be better when the new section opens (but that's so far away!)

If you're allowed to use non-LO forms of transport to get between the various termini it's trivial to do it in a matter of a few hours.

If you have to stick to LO services (which involves a lot of doubling back) it's still easily possible in one day, which I know is true without working out an itinerary being as double the sum of the end-to-end times on each line adds up to under eight hours, so even allowing for the layovers at each change it can't take much more than perhaps nine hours.

If you want to do it completely properly remember there are some services using odd curves at Willesden and Barking at the extreme ends of the day...

This i didnt know. do you know which services these are?

The problem that arises for me is where to start given that i kind of live in the middle of the route and dont want to double back that far if i can help it.

The first departure from and last arrival at Willesden Junction to/from Stratford use LL P1/2 instead of HL P4/5; to do this they run over a normally freight-only curve between the two levels.

A few Goblin services do not use the flyover west of Barking and terminate in P7/8 instead of P1/1a. (The tracks they use are the same ones as the c2c Liverpool Street services.) From PSUL these are:
PSUL said:
2140 SuO, 2150 SuX, 2335 SuX Gospel Oak–Barking
0617 MO, 0632 MSuX, 0647 SuX, 0853 SuO, 0908 SuO, 0923 SuO Barking–Gospel Oak

There is also (as of the latest timetable) one morning peak service between the Goblin and the NLL that uses the way round the back of Gospel Oak (OTT shows it as being nonstop through the nonexistent P4). It terminates at Hampstead Heath before running ECS to Willesden depot.

Primrose Hill

LO services this Sunday only are running from Willesden Junction (P2) to Stratford via Queen's Park, Primrose Hill and Camden Road.
