Doing Euston-Liverpool with Saver Return then Day Rangers.

I am thinking do Euston-Liverpool with Euston-Rugby Saver Rtn, then West Midlands Day Ranger for Rugby-Crewe, then Cheshire Day Ranger for Crewe-Liverpool, Then running around on Merseyrail Etc. Am I still allowed to join up the Saver Rtn with Ranger at Rugby then both Rangers at Crewe though train not stop either of these stations?

You can undertake one non-stop split (e.g. at Rugby) but a second consecutive non-stop split (without stopping somewhere between Rugby and Crewe) likely wouldn't be permitted. The NRCoT don't explicitly state that, but it is implied from the fact that it refers to:

in conjunction with another Ticket and the last station at which one Ticket is valid and the first station that the other Ticket is valid are the same

...all of which are singular references. The NRCoC used to be worded differently so as to permit multiple consecutive non-stop splits - so this implies a change in policy.

That being said, almost all Liverpool services stop somewhere between Rugby and Crewe, so you wouldn't be conducting two consecutive non-stop splits. You'd be doing one from Euston to Stafford (or wherever else the train stops) and then another from Stafford to Liverpool.

Regardless of the validity, there is always a chance of grief from the Euston gateline staff, who are notorious for making up their own rules

Im thinking go out on 10.07 Euston-Liverpool which stops Tamworth-Litchfield-Runcorn-Liverpool, then back on 19.43 Liverpool-Euston, which stops basically Runcorn-Crewe-Milton Keynes central-Euston, so thought Euston to Rugby then 2 rangers joining at Crewe though outward not stop Rugby or Crewe and Return not stop Rugby. Think by looks of it, as save me only £9.00, on Saver Rtn Euston-Crewe then Cheshire day ranger. With the risk of potential Euston gate line problems, I’ll do the latter, unless someone comes up with fares which make savings worth the potential hassle.
