How this idiot managed to do this is beyond me, this is at Farnham level crossing a couple of nights ago at around 3am, so no trains were running, but how they didn't get fried by the juice rail is amazing!

Not the first person to do this. There was a similar incident near Southport last year, when the woman who was driving was (somewhat appropriately!) dressed as a clown!

I do know of one instance where a pensioner literally followed the instruction of turn right at Kings Fernsden level crossing and did the same thing except this time the down fast just missed him!

And I'd hardly blame the Sat Nav, if it says turn, I'll glance at the map on the screen, then look ahead and relate it to what I see. And act accordingly. After all SatNav data does go out of date (mine used to try and send me up a bus lane if I was using it to come back from somewhere*

*not the units fault, the bus lane was a bright idea by the council that appeared just after I bought the unit. It has since been removed as it backed up the traffic further then before, and the only reason the traffic and buses get backed up is because the council made a temporary diversion permanent so less traffic passed their offices... so they won't solve that problem in a hurry ;)
