Hi. I have been invited to take a mini Scaat test online with a tram company. If I fail does this go towards your first attempt ?. Do tram and train companies share information ?. Do tram companies have the 2 attempt rule ?. Thanks.

I don't know how the assessments for Trams work but im pretty sure an online test wouldn't count towards your 2 "lives" for a train company anyway. The proper phycometric tests for the railway are held in person in exam conditions to ensure of no cheating because its a serious test. If it was all online there would be no way for the company to known if it was truly you taking the test or didn't have someone helping you.

The 2 lives rule is only applicable to OPC testing any testing done outside of that aren't counted towards your lives.
The testing includes paper and computer tests along with the MMI or CBI in case of Avanti, where you'll either go to the TOC or down to Watford where the OPC are.
From my knowledge I don't know any tram operators that use OPC it's all mainly done in house, so there's no 2 lives but they may individually implement a limit of how many times you can reapply but I don't know that number
