They was someone there when I stopped off at 11pm last week. And there was a different member of staff going who let me know the station was closing soon (I was waiting for someone else to come in on another train which was the last of the night). Did feel overstaffed for single digit passengers for most trains at that time.
I didn't see any batons so I'm not sure if they are safety critical dispatchers or some other type of platform staff.
When there were two trains in quick succession in different directions (one was slightly late) they didn't wait for the first to fully leave the platform before going up the footbridge, which I understand is not allowed for dispatchers.
