Overnight engineering works on the West Coast, CS is often diverted via the East Coast, & is often mentioned on the sleeper thread

Wigan-Preston appears to be closed, also Carlisle-Glasgow/Edinburgh.
Over the Easter weekend, CS services start from King's Cross and run via the ECML as Euston is closed as well as much of the WCML.

First time I’ve heard Kings Cross used as the London Station (though I don’t pay close attention admittedly). I know the ECML is used for diversions fairly often but usually with Euston as it reverses leaving London. Interesting!

Can't remember where I read it, but even with the reversal and extended journey times, Euston is the preferred London terminal as it has showers etc, whereas King's Cross doesn't.

Not the first time from Kings Cross though. The issue is that with shorter platforms shorter (or more) trains have to run when Kings Cross is used.

And also because the stock is maintained at Wembley Depot.
