I am just wondering because now we have 150's or a few of them at least then maybe they will be a stock reallocation on the cards
Allerton is taking over the maintenance of the 156s, and Heaton will be taking on some extra 142s (unsure if these are the ones returned by FGW or a transfer within Northern).
Probably will be the ones from FGW at least they will be in decent nick compared to the others in the fleet which are in a dire need to be refurbed
RAIL 684 p27: said:Heaton +8 (ex-FGW 142), +8
Neville Hill +20 (ex-FSR 322), +20
Newton Heath +6 (ex-FGW 142), +36 (ex-LM 150), -8 (156 to EMT), -56 (156 to Allerton), -15 (180 to FGW) -37
Allerton +56 (ex NH 156), +56
They in service with Northern yet?
I prefer the high-backed seating Northern Spirit refurbs to the bus seated examples that are now appearing more often working from Heaton (Due to the four extra units at Heaton from FGW). The Northern Spirit interiors wore quickly even in NS days, I think that Northern are taking better care of them than Northern Spirit did in the first place!Probably will be the ones from FGW at least they will be in decent nick compared to the others in the fleet which are in a dire need to be refurbed
They're based at Newton Heath as driver9000 says, so they appear on any route that currently sees 150s radiating from Manchester and around Lancashire. So where are the LM units running at the moment?
So will the ex LM Class 150's operate on the Sheffield to Manchester (Hope Valley Line) and the Manchester to Buxton services?
I've never heard of a 150 working in the North East, for the reasons that 142094 states, plus 150s are supposedly not cleared for use on the Durham Coast and Tyne Valley Lines, which suggests that nobody's ever had reason to bother thinking about it. They only end up in Newcastle when working ECS up the ECML to Heaton.Don't 153's still occasionally operate tyne valley services? I'm sure I've seen a 150/2 at prudhoe once.

153s occasionally end up at Heaton to have work done to them as well, and I have seen reports on this forum of them very occasionally working on the Tyne Valley, but personally I haven't seen a 153 at Newcastle in passenger service since NS/ATN moved them away from the area and down to Neville Hill when they were still in Regional Railways livery.
