A good start would be get yourself across to WNXX and look in this area Meets and Events because one of the guys on there works at Basford Hall yard from what I can gather and organises a few tours through the year!

P.S. I don't normally plug other forums but this is the best thing I could find.

Some of us are "quarantined" on there after having the audacity to join a breakaway forum and so cant look in, I could just join using another user-name/ email but didnt like the Snappy appreciation society forums way of following/making up the rules anyway.

Fair enough.

Didn't know that FL did any open days to be honest. I knew DRS did though.

The Basford Hall Freightliner visits aren't open days, they are just one of the Crewe FL drivers doing conducted tours, the proceeds going to charity. Can't remember his name and I can't find his 'business card' either. You used to be able to book by email.

Closest I could find so thought I would mention it. I see your point about them though.

Sometimes the Basford Hall tours are in conjunction with the Crewe Heritage Centre, check their website/Facebook every so often. usually there'll be a heritage bus taking you from the heritage Centre to the yard.
