Hi there. I lost both of my lives at the psychometric assessments some time ago and wondered if I might have a chance again. I heard that the OPC last changed their tests in 2013 so just wondering

I thought attempts before 2013 may have a possibility of being wiped... But I could be massively wrong on that

They did. Lives were reset in 2013. They haven't been changed or reset since.

For pre 2013 applicants it reset yeh, after that in the case of OP it hasn't changed for more than a decade now
I’ve always wondered how did the previous system differ. Was it the same tests but lives just reset. Was it different tests. Was it a keep trying until you pass thing. As someone who was still in school at this time, I have no idea what the difference was.

The tests were actually different, especially the Stage 2 (computer) tests. I don't remember most of them, but the original '2-hand co-ordination test' was actually a 'hands and feet' co-ordination test. There were coloured buttons and pedals to be pressed in response to various onscreen information.
Stage 1 (paper) tests were largely (completely?) the same.
It was most definitely still a '2 lives' affair.

I sat my tests twice, must have been about 12 months apart, but I sat the old tests the first time and the new tests the second time. Think I was the first group to sit the new tests.
I can’t remember how they differed now, it was a long time ago, but I remember the new tests didn’t seem as stream lined as the old ones. The old ones seem more straight to the point. One thing I do remember is the interview being different. The first time I did it it seemed to be just the questions with little interaction from the assessor, the second time there seemed to be more interruptions, attempting to make me loose my concentration.
I didn’t realise at the time they’d be new tests. The first I sat them I passed everything apart from the assessed interview, so I was annoyed I had to sit the whole thing again and not just the interview. No one told us at the time that the lives had been re-set, come to think about it I think this might be the first time I’ve heard about that.
The time I did them the old style there was only 6 of us sitting them, the second time there was at least 30 of us. Not sure if this was just a coincidence or if they’d changed how many people could be assessed at once. Things seemed more laid back the second time then the old assessments but again could just be coincidence.
I remember them asking if we all received the practice papers for the tests, but they’d only sent out the dots practice paper and nothing else. They told us if we weren’t happy to sit the tests we could come back at a later date after practicing, but everyone stayed and sat them. No idea if this effected anyone’s results going in blind or not.
Much preferred the old version to the new version, but can’t really remember the details. By that, I don’t mean the old tests were easier, they just seemed more relevant then the newer versions.
