In the course of a mildly entertaining article in the Telegraph Magazine of 7/2/15 the writer Andrew Barrow, describing his trip with his son on Britain's longest train journey from Aberdeen to Penzance, writes 'sadly we don't stop at the amusing-sounding Doddy Cross station'. From where this occurs in the text it infers it is in Cornwall, somewhere east of Bodmin Parkway, and I've traced a place of that name on the internet, near Liskeard. Why should he have thought there is a station there? Has there ever been, or plans for one?
Any observations welcome.

The article has parts written in a pretty tongue-in-cheek way, IMO, so I suppose it could be that the author wished that there was a station there for its amusing name, and at the same time called it a station to make people think twice or do exactly what we've done as those interested in railways, and gone to frantically look it up! ;)

In this case, maybe there were once rail facilities in the area, but I'm not particularly an expert on that area of the rail network, and so I have to resort to "Google says no"! :o

Doublebois? - original Cornwall Railway station opened 1859 closed 1964. Local pronunciation 'Double Boys' rather than as one might think in French!
