...just curious...
Why have you set up a poll where you can see how other people have voted?
No, we should have serious punishments for those who sexually harass anyone on trains.
Oh. Didn't realise I'd done that.
The outcome of this poll is extremely conclusive. Women-only carriages are a terrible idea.
...according to a very narrow and predominantly male demographic comprised entirely of railway enthusiasts.
Does "No" mean "No. I do not support the idea of gender segregation because gender is one of the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010" or "No. I don't think that people should look at ways to increase perceived safety of women because I'm sexist and am sick of all this positive discrimination"?
Until the 1970s , a number of Suberban Multiple Units , in the London area . Had Ladies Only compartments .
These were done away with on the grounds of "Safty"

I know we live in an age of exceptionally low tolerance towards divergent opinion, especially when the consensus on the given issue is strong but I'm not sure what reprisals one should expect for voting the wrong way here. It's not like it's a poll on HS2 or anything (in which case, expect to be hunted down with pitchforks lol!).
I'm sure Lemmy99uk is still alive and well and not living in fear of his life, or losing his job, despite currently being in a minority of 1. So why not join him and double the tally?
I think the 2017 definition of who is or is not a "woman" is probably too broad to make the idea workable in the first place.
