Good news for Gatwick, and passengers across the south of England. I would also contend that for destinations in the city, a quick change at London Bridge is preferable to fighting across from Paddington.

I had hoped they might also announce a capacity increase through Manchester, perhaps daily.

If there is an A350 through Gatwick I might need to find a reason to start a journey at Gatwick.

Please, BA, bring back the MAN-LGW connection. It can take several months to get to Gatwick on a bad day.

No problem at all. I've worked at Gatwick for the past 13 years or so, and so I follow closely any new flights/destinations that are to due to start, and of course those that are due to end/transfer elsewhere.

If the info is useful I am more than happy to contribute to the thread with further updates etc.

For anyone that's interested at all, Norwegian have now confirmed that their new Gatwick - Oakland (San Francisco) route is to be launched in May 2016. Prices start from £199 one way. Flights will be operated 3x weekly on board the 787-9 (bigger version of the Dreamliner so I believe)

I don't log the reg numbers as I would with loco's but I am currently doing around 300,000 miles per year in First or Business mainly on the Emirates network as I am based in Dubai. Spent more time on the A380 than I care to imagine and it really is my second home.
