Hi there,

Anyone know the answer to the question in the title?

Cheers

Ryan :)

Yes - and no. They have the capacity to be locked OOU, but there is some stupid complication with non-compatibility in some formations, I can't quite remember. The solution to this is to lock one whole set out.

Being locked out of use and selective door opening are two entirely different things. Ferret should be able to shed some light on this one.

They do indeed have the capacity to SDO but it's never been passed for use for some reason. As a result, we end up locking carriages out of use when we need to stop at stations with short platforms.

That's what I was getting at - sorry bad phrasing! Ferret has dealt with it, I can't remember the exact reason for it not being used, but I'm sure it's got something to do with it not working properly unless it's just one single unit.

I recall SDO being tested on Voyagers years ago but can't recall why it wasn't signed off for use - you may have the answer there Pumbaa!

Thanks for that guys. So they can use it but they dont? So does this mean you could unlock only the front 3 coaches for example? Also do you know if pendos have it too?

Thanks

Ryan

I don't know if it's for that reason - but on trips back from Penzance, we've had 8 car/9 car Voyager sets - the remaining set being out of use.
