Do any websites sell train ticket vouchers?

Not sure how it would work, but it would be brilliant if you could buy gift vouchers that can be exchanged for rail tickets. I don't see why it shouldn't be possible.

How about adding it to Trainsplit and/or the forum's site?

This Uber tickets is a new one on me. I always thought they were mini cabs. It's an app presumably? Will have to investigate.

Yes, the Uber app (best known for car/taxi/minicab journeys) also retails GB rail tickets, coach tickets and Eurostar tickets.

They are currently advertising VERY heavily across the rail network (well London terminals, certainly), and offering a 10 per cent credit rebate on rail tickets till at least 29 February.

In the recent past both Amazon and Tesco have sold Uber vouchers at 15% discount, so combined with the 10% credit rebate, it adds up to a VERY attractive saving on the cost of rail travel.

I'm no fan of Uber as a company but I'm more than happy to exploit their current offer to the max.

Before the Uber offer came along I also bought LNER vouchers to gain cashback via Airtime Rewards.

Sorry if this is hijacking a thread, but if using an LNER voucher produces a paper ticket, can you collect from a TVM with any credit/debit card?

I ask because the LNER website says at https://www.lner.co.uk/search/?searchRecaptchaResponse=&q=collect+ticket#faqresults under 'How do I collect my tickets from a ticket vending machine?'

You need two things to collect your tickets from a ticket machine:

1. The first is the debit or credit card that was used to purchase the tickets.
2. The second is the 8 character alpha-numeric reference that can be found on your confirmation email.

To get visa rewards cashback, I'm happy to buy £70 or more of LNER vouchers at a time rather than my twenty-something pounds daily ticket - but not if it turns out that I can never get the ticket out of the machine. And those who have followed enough threads will know that there are overlapping reasons why it has to be a paper ticket but can't be collected over the counter from the ticket office.

Yes. LNER also accepts PayPal as a method of payment and the same would apply.

Yes, if a ticket is paid for in full by voucher it can be collected with any card. (Part voucher part card payments will still need the card.)
