DMI - nervous!

Hey! Very new to this forum, so glad I’ve found it though!

I’ve thankfully managed to pass all assessments so far and the next step is a DMI and I have no idea what to expect.

So far I’ve thought some topics that may come up will be:

Safety related questions similar to the MMI type questions,
Facts about the company,
And that’s about it.

My mind has gone blank, pure panic at this point!

I have tried to search the forums but the keyword DMI just brings me halfway into a forum thread of about 120 pages.

I’d be really grateful for any help and guidance.

Which TOC have you got DMI with?

Definitely worth knowing as much as possible about company traction routes managed stations etc

Firstly, take a second and think about your best answer for each question. Don't just go rambling on with anything, which is easy to do in an interview. Also if you think of a better example while answering, tell them you have another example, they might want to hear that too.

I've had two DMIs, with different TOCs. One asked me very briefly what I knew about the company, the other didn't ask at all. While it's good to have some info, I wouldn't spend ages researching the company. Spend your time thinking what your answers might be for things like:

How would you manage fatigue

Why do you want to be a train driver

When did you make a mistake and how did you sort it

When did you have to learn something quickly and how did you go about that
