DMI interview and what should I do?

Hi Peeps,

Just a quick question from me about a worry I have.

I'm already in a Talent Pool for a TOC but getting inpatient waiting and slighty worried I'm not going to get out of the pool.

I have been offer another DMI interview with another TOC for the position of trainee train driver.

Now my worry is, if I go for this other position and fail the DMI, would this go on the national records as a fail and affect my position in the talent pool I'm already in?

No, DMI's are not stored on a national database so the other TOC won't know if you have failed or not. The only possible exception may be if the two TOCs are part of the same parent group.

Only a little over 3 months. I know it isn't very long, but I'm really keen and eagar to get started and stuck in.

No, it isn't very long. 18 months - 2 years is the norm for many, mine was 18 months.

Get another job, go and do stuff. Live a life. If, and when, they want you they will contact you. Go and do something. Forget about it.

Easier said than done but infinitely better than the incredibly annoying continuous posts that some do on here where they post every week asking if anyone has heard!
