A recent visit to ExCel using the DLR set me wondering about what is planned and what ought to be planned in the way of service changes to public transport in Docklands when the Elizabeth Line opens.
Clearly the outer end of the Beckton branch will see an increase in usage as there'll now be rapid access to central London via a change at Custom House.
But it's not so clear how otherbflows will change e.g. as Stratford becomes a more attractive traffic node, but Whitechapel (being on the central spine of the EL, hence having a more frequent service) will be even more attractive.
For instance, will users of the eastern part of the NLL now head for Stratford rather than Highbury & Islington to change for the West End? And will users of the northern part of the ELL now head for Whitechapel rather than H&I?
I guess this will have been modelled, but Covid changes may have altered things.
