Divided portion doesn't start from divide point - what does it mean?

The train SW9257 on 2022-05-02 appears to have portion divided off Southampton but the divided portion starts at Winchester. As a result it crashed my program, resulting in an infinite loop which I assume that the secondary train in a division always start at the division point.

The following are screenshots showing how different websites render the train:
BR Times.png
Realtime Trains.png

While SWR shows 18:49 - 20:10, 19:03 - 20:10 and 19:03 - 19:49 for a query from Winchester - Bournemouth:

BR Times shows that the fast train calls at platform 4, while the slow train, overtaken by the fast, calls at platform 3. Does it mean that a portion from London will detach at Southampton at platform 4, shunt to platform 3 and attach to the train started at Winchester there?

It's just a data error from how today's timetable was written, with the SX pattern being altered to become closer to the SO service

So SX 1W77 splits at SOU to form 2B57 but SO it doesn't and 2B55 starts at WIN. So today 2B57 has been altered to start WIN but the divide activity wasn't removed from the schedules on either train hence the strange behaviour

So will there actually be a direct train departing 19:03 at Winchester to Totton, Ashurst, etc., today? as it is showing on SWR app?

No, just the 1849 direct, or 1903 change at Southampton - the system is still seeing them as portions of the same train hence the incorrect implication of a direct journey

A related question:

Are there any passenger trains which have a portion divided off at a station and joined to another service at the same station in the National Rail network? (Such manoeuvrer can be used to create direct journey opportunities which aren't otherwise feasible)

Detaching portions is common enough in certain parts of the country when multiple units are involved.
Both the Scottish Sleepers detach/attach portions. I suppose you could say that the Fort William sleeper then attaches to another service, ie the lounge car and seats, but that starts from Edinburgh itself which I don't think is quite what you mean.

Attaching through coaches from a branch line to a main-line train, which would presumably meet your definition, would have been common enough practice 60 years ago, but has gradually disappeared and is now vanishingly rare in Western/Central Europe (it happens in summer at Niebüll in North Germany, and the Nightjet trains from/to Austria swap portions at Nuremberg all year).

PS Happy Forum Birthday!
