Can anyone shed any light on why this section of the London Underground is part of the District Line? It shares stock with the Hammersmith & City/Circle Lines and runs none of them off route (discounting the Wimbledon - Upminster service which uses District D-Stock anyway). Wouldn't it be more sensible to call the line something different entirely? Wimbledon & City perhaps?
