District Line speed improvements

Is it true that line speed on the District has improved recently in areas such as Becontree to Upney? I’ve heard there was a recent update to CBTC but these are rumours going round Facebook groups.

Yes, the speed has been lifted in some sections to the maximum originally intended for CBTC

Thanks for the reply. Wouldn't want anyone to break rules/put their jobs at risk. Was just asking as I thought there might be some dates that are public knowledge that I just didn't know.

I travelled on the district line for the first time in months and it felt remarkably fast between Gloucester Road and Earl’s Court. First time I really felt that the line was automated (partially).
