Strange request maybe, but can anyone tell me the approximate length of the platforms at Diss station in Norfolk? From Google Maps, they look to be around 260m, offset by about 60m.

Cheers!
Pete

The Sectional Appendix quotes the lengths as being 250m both Up and Down.

Stagger or offset is not shown.

Just looked at the internal NR Routeview and that shows it is a loco and 2 coaches (Mk3) offset :)

That's useful, cheers.

Were the platforms this length in the 1970s?

No. I can remember doing surveys for Hixon mods to Palgrave AHB's back then and there where stop boards for 9 and 10 coach trains beyond the platform end in the Up direction.

Thanks fellas. I found out today that they were extended around 1984'ish. Prior to that they would accommodate 6 coaches, so around 150m?
