I have booked a journey from Stamford to Penzance in July using three separate tickets but all under the same booking reference. Stamford-Peterborough 08.00, Peterborough-London 10.10 (advance ticket) and London-Penzance 12.07. Since I made the booking, the departure time of the 12.07 from Paddington has been brought forward to 11.33 but still arriving at 17.07. Apparently the train is now going via Swindon due to electrification works on the Newbury line. The connection in London is now very tight especially with luggage to drag along so I would feel safer on earlier connecting trains. Can I just take earlier trains and take a print out of the booking for proof, or is there a more formal process to go through? I tried phoning east coast but could not get through and no answer to my on-line enquiry via the web site either. Advice appreciated.
