Disruption WCML today (01/11)

Sounds like it's been a difficult day out of Euston with major damage to wires in the Kensal area.. most notable the decimation of the southern service towards Watford and WCML.

Any info as to how serious the damage is and what happened?

It’s all on the sleeper thread. Up Lowlander (1M11) was involved in a dewirement in Kensal Green Tunnel, with debris smashing the loco windscreen. No one hurt fortunately. The train was evacuated, and then hauled into Euston several hours later.

I gather the down fast was reopened late afternoon, but the Up fast is still closed for repairs. Hopefully all fixed tonight and open tomorrow morning for all the Wolves fans heading to the Emirates.

They removed all of it, not 1/10 of it

Just you: ohle, train failures, signal failures, staff shortages

This seemed to have a big knock on effect for Northern too last night with a shortage of drivers in the north west - im guessing this is because they would use VTEC to pass back to somewhere?

Even with those other issues OHLE has been a more common cause than I've seen before. The Euston issue yesterday, the issue around Madeley the other day and the issue between Stafford and Wolverhampton all in the space of a week.

Maybe the wires should be pulled down and a load of 37s and 47s built?
