Wondered if anyone knows the reason for this disruption which seemed to be north of Leicester with trains around an hour late around midnight?

Some of the affected services:

1F85

2L88

1D86

Along with various ECS XC trains running into Leicester depot.

Looks like the same is happening tonight, with delay 'warnings' showing on the EMR website.

22:32 St Pancras International to Sheffield due 00:46 will be delayed between Leicester and Loughborough.
This is due to a safety inspection of the track
22:35 St Pancras International to Derby due 00:28 will be delayed between Market Harborough and Leicester.
This is due to a safety inspection of the track.

My thoughts for that would be who ever put a delay message out last night put it against todays trains rather than yesterdays?

My thoughts too - as the delays happened after midnight, it must be fairly easily done. I was searching 1F85 on realtime trains also forgetting that it's past midnight and wondering why it hadn't departed yet!

Yes a very easy mistake to make.

But a mistake nonetheless. Will any "learning from experience" be taken on board from this? My expectation is: probably not.
Have you never made a very simple mistake?

If you did, did you retrain yourself and take on any learning from it?

People make mistakes, end of!
