My best friend is stuck on an HST trying to get into Cheltenham (1G29). She's trying to get to Derby. Apparently Cheltenham town centre has been shut, so she's now stuck in Cheltenham station (if she gets that far!) for the forseeable future, with no means of getting out.
Apparently a points failure means they can't get into Cheltenham, and the engineers havn't arrived yet.
I wish she had stayed at Gloucester instead of trying to get to Cheltenham for a VXC connection.

You'll be lucky! The way it's going I think the whole country will end up under water. Oh well, at least there isn't a hosepipe ban (not that the garden needs watering, actually I'm convinced it's getting over watered). Ah, as I type this it just seems to have started here, we've had light rain most of the afternoon but there was just a big flash of lightning.

My friend's HST just arrived at Cheltenham 89 minutes down. Apparently the water is half way up the cars in the car park.
And the water is scarily close to my house, even though I'm on a big hill.

Yup, it's pretty bad to say the least.
To clarify, I believe no Virgin West Coast services are delayed. Some radio stations have been announcing delays for these services in addition to the ones above.
For a change, it's not raining in Glasgow.

My friend made it to Cheltenha, the HST crawled there apparently. She is now stuck at Cheltenham station along with hundreds of other angry passengers with no means of getting anywhere.
Most of the Euston to Birmingham/Wolverhampton services now appear to be cancelled

Hoping like mad my bus at 2010 gets to Hereford, and that the 2201 to Crewe runs relatively near time, and that the 0050 to Manchester Airport and 0122 to York from there also run! But it's coming back tomorrow I'm worried about, 1825 off York with just 16 minutes to connecting onto the 2059 to Hereford from there, with hopes that my 2311 bus home runs!
Came through enough floodwater on the roads home as it was, going back to Hereford might be a challenge! Maybe I should have stayed in Hereford for the 7 hours instead...

My friend is now at Gloucester station, after about 4 hours bored in Cheltenham, they were taken by minibus to Gloucester. She is now waiting for the 2158 to Newport where we will pick her up, as we have no road access to Gloucester because of flooding, though we can still make it to Newport.

The Gloucester to Newport line has been affected by flooding as well.

Not by this evening! My brother is nearly 3 hours late arriving into Llandudno Junction on the 17:21 EUS-HHD, he's left Chester about 20 mins ago!!
The final VT of the evening on the NWC also is running 90 mins late, and Crewe arr/dep board on NRE is showing a lot of red!
This weather is incredible!
At time of writing, many radio stations invented non-existent WCML delays which came into being much later. The 1030 EUS-GLC was punctual, for example.

Never got out in the end, my bus to Hereford was cancelled due to extreme flooding. Cars, lorries and buses all stranded around the county because of it all. My Mum was lucky to get home...2 hours of trying to cover 14 miles because of flooding, and her car is now in need of a major service. So she couldn't get me anywhere either.
Herefordshire is a stranded county today, and most likely tomorrow. IF I am lucky enough to get to Hereford tomorrow, I might be able to get out on a bash, but I am severely doubting it.
Passengers in Newport this evening were being advised to get the service to Portsmouth Harbour as far as Southampton Central and changing for London there. Nice long way round!
In any case, I'm told the 2201 off Hereford was running 46 minutes late around 2208 this evening. Lovely...

Reminds me of the time some of us timed an LU minute using the platform indicators. Was actually something like one and a half mins.

Just an update. The river (Right next to the track) Has burst it's banks waterlogging the road. Also one of the signal boxes was struck by lightning last night. So what can I say

There was no road replacement transport from Gloucester to Birmingham.
I was stuck at Gloucester for four hours yesterday. They promised coaches were waiting when I got on the 1339 at Bristol Parkway, then when we got there they said coaches were on their way, then later that there were none coming at all, and no way of getting out (no trains, no coaches.)
If you went to the bar on the station and said you were Virgin Trains, you could have a free tea or coffee. There was a hotel booked for certain people, and later on a sports hall was opened up, but I stayed on the station.
They neglected to mention the existance of the xx58s to Newport & Cardiff, where we could change for Bristol. At 1820-ish, a Voyager left, went to Newport (announcement to change for the Shrewsbury service, where you could change for Birmingham, then go onwards, also that you could wait 1 hour for the Manchester train - both of these were due to arrive after 11pm, so I chose to go home), Bristol Parkway, Temple Meads (where you could change for London).
The TM said she was over her hours, but wasn't worried, as she had one other TM and some kind of manager on board.
I'm hoping to get to B'ham today, LDBs aren't giving out info (handy), and there's no road replacements, despite the Highways Agency website shows minimal disruption on the M5.
A freight driver in our coach got a text from his wife saying there was flooding at Lydney, but we (along with the hourly Arrivas which were running roughly to time), proceeded at about 5mph.

Departure boards at Paignton were duff this morning and all passengers north of Bristol are adivsed to go to London on any TOC!

I have since also been informed that service was operated by 175105, which had severe problems and was doing around 3mph and stopping many times all the way to Ludlow. It eventually reached Crewe, very late (no time received), missing the 0050 to Manchester by a long way. Crowds of passengers for various destinations were grouped up according to their destination (some were bound for Glasgow!), then taxis provided. The one heart-of-wessex was in would have cost him £71.70 if he had had to pay for it! I dread to think what the meter would have read at Glasgow, Sheffield or Leeds!
He has now headed home after being advised to get a Pendolino to Euston and any service from Paddington. Good luck I say, as the B+H is up the creek and services via Bath might be severely stuffed too.
Not a good weekend for travel anywhere.
And I can say that the floods around here have virtually all gone, with buses running again with mimimal speed restrictions once again as of this morning.
