Doing some RTT browsing and have spotted two XC services (1S43 and 1E36) picking up some rather hefty delays (60+ minutes) around the Kingsbury Jn area. Anyone know why?

XC Service 1G24 struck a tree on approach to Tamworth high level earlier on, could be tail backs of that.
Only other thing I can see is a fatality between Nuneaton and Atherstone with services having to go via West Mids, so could be causing delays.

I'm on Avanti Manchester to London 1415, was delayed arriving and has departed 30' late, and been told we are diverted, presumably via Birmingham.

No other info than an "incident near Nuneaton".

I expect to be in Milton Keynes and hour later than expected!

There has indeed been an "incident" near Nuneaton.
You are lucky. If you had been on an earlier train and got held up behind the "incident", you would have had to reverse back to Stafford and would arrive over 3 hours late!
Everything is being diverted via Bescot, Aston, Birmingham International and Coventry.

Yes, that's the route I'm on, will arrive 100 mins late. My delay repay is on the cheapest ticket, won't even be a tenner! And already spent it at the bar!!
