Disruption at Sowerby Bridge today

Due to a tree on the line at Sowerby Bridge my train from York to Leeds was delayed. I decided not to bother and work from home instead. I had an anytime return ticket, so I believe I can't get a refund under the new policy, and as I didn't travel I clearly can't claim delay repay. It seems unfortunate as there was no indication there was a problem until I got to the platform.

Anything I can do here? Anyone it might be useful to complain to? It's certainly not a passenger-friendly policy.

You can still claim a refund for your ticket from your point of purchase. The new refund rules do not affect eligibility for a refund in the event of delay or cancellation.

You can claim a refund from the retailer of your ticket. You will need to specify that you are claiming due to the cancellation of your planned train.
