Dispatch At London Bridge

Yesterday I was at London Bridge heading towards Charing Cross and observed train dispatch there. The services all seemed to be DOO, and next to the signal was 'CD' (Close Doors) and 'RA' (Right Away).

There were at least three dispatchers on the platform, and I got the feeling that they were showing the bat to a camera, as it was held up rather high. I didn't notice anyone on the platform to activate the CD and RA. So was this on the platform, or done via the camera, say in a control room?

No, there is an office on the platform which has a section sticking out into the platform with glass on either side to enable the person in the office to see the members of staff holding up the bat. CD/RA buttons are located in this area.

There is also a second set of buttons outside that office, which are sometimes used.
