Hi couple of questions...
Three year railcard due to renew in a few weeks - what proof if anything re entitlement is likely to be asked for?
Second question... i notice when i use the card - im almost always never asked to show the card on any ticket inspection unlike anyone else who has another railcard - why is this?
The only place I've been asked to show it is once on the dateline at Euston - is this a policy or luck of the draw - im guessing policy or common practice - given how much ive used it
Just curious - no other reason

When I renewed mine for the second time I was asked to submit a copy of my NHS Battery Book.
Like you I have been asked to see it at Euston but have also been asked numerous times during ticker checks on trains.

In my experience when I've ever renewed mine is that they don't ask for proof. I've never been asked to resubmit evidence of being deaf and use a hearing aid.

In relation to your second question, I'm very rarely asked to show my railcard as well. Even the ticket office staff that know me don't even ask to see it any more. On longer journeys ie from Scotland to England then I'm asked but on trains in Glasgow, I'm never asked to show it when a ticket examiner comes along.

Well, perhaps experience has taught staff that enough people buy tickets that require "another" railcard they don't possess to make it worthwhile asking!
Or to put it another way, a disproportionate number of 16-25 railcard "holders" seem to "forget" their railcard or attempt to use it beyond its expiry.

All I got was a request to submit a scan of the cover.
I'm sure the mention that they might ask for evidence at any renewal, when you first apply.
