This time of year stock can get grubby very quickly.

The silver livery looks positvely sparkling compared to how they were often presented in Wessex days; the liked image being quite typical!

Yes I agree with the first post.

Northern probably want to look after their 158s though because they're the newest DMU they have!

Well as been said, they are getting a refurb soon so why bother cleaning them up and that? Same with FCC. The ones left in Thameslink are in a ****e state but will be getting a nice new livery soon enough.

the ex-TPE ones are VERY shabby, and have 4 TOCs liveries on them! The original Northern Spirit 'N' logo, the old First branding can be seen slightly through the pink plastic they put over the top of it, the 3 Cs at the ends from Central Trains, and the EMT branding  Although the first class area is quite nice :)

 they went a bit OTT with that !

Think that's bad, there was a 47 I can remember that used to be in Mars Celebrations livery - looked rancid!

The help with the company's image etc.

Same with FCC. The ones left in Thameslink are in a ****e state but will be getting a nice new livery soon enough.

That's all very well outside, but what about inside? The livery can look as nice it wants, but if the train is old/filthy and generally sh*tty inside it makes no difference.

Ah, you've been on NXEA's reliveried 317s then? One night this week I was on a reliveried one on the way home that still has a WAGN promotional poster on the inside!

The NEW class 158 in EMT livery will enter service tomorrow. This has a great painted finish and should be kept clean.
