Hi All,

Interesting one this... Is this just a weekend anomaly? Not seen this train before on the LDB.

Regards,

The bigger anomaly is not the origin/destination, it's the fact that the words 'On Time' appear next to an Arriva Cambrian train...

But actually Crewe-Aber or vice versa is relatively common when there's engineering work going on between Shrewsbury-Wolves on a Sunday. It also has the bonus of making more of the trains run to time.

Very funny response! I liked the fact the engineering work gives an added bonus of making things run on time =P Infact because of less trains nationally on a Sunday, I've noticed timekeeping is generally better all round

Its the lengthy turnaround time at Crewe on Sundays that gives the good running, likewise when ATW extended to BHM International in Dec 08 it effectively gave an incoming ATW train an hour to turn around at New St. The appalling running on the Cambrian was a direct result of the creation of the Wales and Border franchise as services that were extended beyond Birmingham were terminated there with very short turn around times with no margin for recovery.

Travelling back from Telford to Euston after last years Shrewsbury Beer Festival i went via Shrewsbury & Crewe to avoid the dreaded RR bus to Wolves. The train i caught from Shrewsbury to Crewe had originated in Aberyswyth on that Sunday too.
