Digital version of Modern Railways

Does anyone subscribe to the digital version of Modern Railways and is able to offer a comparison with the print version.

Time to renew, and potentially move on. So a few questions if I may, because I can't find any technical evaluation of it.

Is it absolutely the same material, ie effectively a scanned version of the print copy.

Is there anywhere you can see a sample copy.

What technical format does it come in? PDF e-mail attachment? Only read on line but can't save/download?

Any downsides/upsides of the digital as opposed to the print?

Yeah I subscribe to the iOS version and read on my iPad.
I'm pretty certain it is since when I've had a flick through ones in store they've been the same as what's on my iPad.
Erm last year there was a free / reduced price (can't remember sorry) issue which had some stuff about LU and then extracts from that months main issue in. I think it's still available as on my app I can go back to December 2010.
Once you've downloaded it it stays on the app so you can view it off line, it can be deleted off the app to free up memory but you can download it again when on the internet again.
I prefer the digital issue since when traveling I can take them with me and choose which issues I want to read, I also prefer it because it takes up less space at home! Also I think that the costs are less since a monthly subscription is £2.99 and a single issue £3.99. One bonus is that if you are subscribed it gives you a notification that it's ready to download which I find good

While I understand that the iOS app may be different to the digital issue on I hope this has answered some of your questions

There is an online subscription rail magazine called Railway Herald which is good. It is more up to date than a monthly printed magazine and quite reasonably priced. I don't have a link handy but it should be easy to locate via google or similar search engines.
