Just wanted to post this thread out of personal interest. I live right next to the West Coast Main Line in Weedon Bec, and just heard a very different sounding train come past, certainly wasn't a 350, 390, 221 or 325, or any type of freight for that matter. Sounded electric to me, actually.

I went to check RealTimeTrains, and nothing came up. Sort of like a ghost train that didn't exist on any system I checked. heard it around 20:50-21:10 today (Dec 7).

I might just be being stupid and not finding it properly, but has anyone got any ideas as to what service this was?

I would agree, but the OP specifically said that it was "certainly" not a 325 that he heard!

MARK

For enough - I missed the fact they had mentioned 325s. I don't see anything else that was off route so it must have been just a normal piece of traction for that route making an unusual noise!

325s scream like 319s I believe since they use the same traction equipment. Not sure when a 319 last went past Weedon under its own power!

I heard it too (near Blisworth) but was indoors so only caught it sounding its horn which definitely wasn't Pendolino.
