It'll be a CC72xxx going by the number of the one in the photo. Suspect most locomotives could drag them with an adapter (ISTR a 92 using one to Haul a E* set in trials) but those look to be similar to our 57/3 in that they have an Autocoupler

The diesel locomotives used to haul TGVs if necessary and to haul works trains on LGV lines are the 67200 class. This is why you can usually see a motley 67200 or two parked at Lille from passing Eurostars.
The 72000 class locos are not the TGV rescue locos.
What you see in the pictures is the small batch of Class 72000 locos that were modified with TGV couplings to haul electric TGVs over non-electrified lines on the west coast of France. For a period of time this was seen as the best way to extend the ‘blue riband’ TGV service to west coast resort of Les Sables d’Olonne.
They erected an isolated bit of overhead in Les Sables station but otherwise, between Nantes and Les Sables the line remained diesel worked (and retained old fashioned track and telegraph wires to boot).

The idea didn’t last too long, and in 2004 they reverted to cross-platform connections at Nantes between TGVs and local passenger trains using old 1960s coaches hauled by 72000. This situation lasted until proper electrification in 2008.

Gentlemen, Thank you for the input on TGV diesel rescue. I seem to remember mentioning of a freight car that had a TGV coupler at one end? I would assume that the 67200 class would have to use such a buffer car correct? Any pictures of the 67200 class diesels with a TGV in tow?

.

No barrier car needed. The locos couple direct to the trains. I can't find a picture of it happening as it is rare. Errant TGV sets usually limp on to the next refuge siding, or can of course be coupled to other TGV sets

I know this is only a virtual model, but this is the wagon I have been informed has been modified for moving TGV sets. http://yoyoandfriends.free.fr/html/wagon.html The second car in the list.

I cannot find any pictures of the diesels or the barrier car either. So I cannot confirm if the freight car has been used at some point or not?

Gordon, Thanks for the reply. The use of a barrier wagon I believe is more of a British thing nowadays? Eurostar used them in the beginning and Virgin still does use a barrier wagon when moving trains with non compatible locos.
