by 2018 it will be a hive of activity when it replaces signalboxes at Reading, Slough, Swindon and Oxford and along the Cotswold Line to Worcester.

Does this mean that the signallers working in the to-be-closed boxes would lose their jobs, or would some be sent to work at the new centre? If so, then will the new computer-decision based signalling system be fully safe to be used for such a crucial purpose? :|
