Hi all,

Has anyone yet been to the GWR175 at Didcot this weekend?

Im hoping to go in the week and was wondering what you thought of it and IS it worth going.
Hoping to go FRIDAY.

Many thanks for the link to the photos; that is a serious line-up of GWR glory in one of the shots! Also how wonderful to see a shot of CoT with some coaches that are compatible (I have never seen it with anything other than Mk 1 stock) with the period of the locomotive's heyday. I'm sure that one day most heritage railways will have some vintage stock (great strides are being made in this area on several railways) but, at present, locos like CoT usually have to be seen with the ubiquitous Mk 1. Having said that, the Mk 1 coach is a bit of a treasure in its own right now!

before cot had its recently livery applied it would be quite prototypically correct for it to run with mk1s. I attended a foto charter at the llangollen where it was paired with the carmine and cream set and a fruit d van. Even after its official withdrawal it was put out on works trains ex newbury I believe to take workers down to the docks.
