Unfortunately the earth doesn't move for me very often and it didn't last night either! I only live around 10 miles or so from the epicentre and felt nothing. It would however explain how a pack of razorblades which were on top of my bathroom cabinet ended up being on the floor yesterday evening.

I do remember an earthquake a few years back which occurred late one evening (about 12.30am) which I felt. I was doing some work on my PC at the time, I looked out after but none of the other houses had put their streetlights on. It was only the next morning when I heard the news that I discovered what it had been.

My wife felt it slightly; she was upstairs at the time. I was in the kitchen ( solid concrete floor ) and didn't feel it.

However, I did feel the similarly sized Market Rasen one of three years or so ago whereas she didn't!

We're in Epsom, Surrey, by the way.

The only time I've felt the earth move was the morning when bruncefield went pop.

One of my cousins lives literally next door to that place.

When the explosion ( which woke me up in Epsom, and I'm deaf, though I didn't know why I had woken up at that time until I saw the news later ) happened he and his wife were fast asleep.

When it hit the news, my aunt rang them up and the conversation ( honest! ) went something like this:

*ring ring*

"Hello?"

"It's your mum here, are you all right?"

"Yes, we are. Why do you ask?"

"Look out of your window!"

Ha ha classic, the amount of smoke billowing and the smell was truly unbelievable, just like something out of a Hollywood movie.
